[tab state=”active” title=”Show”]Sojourn Arts and Culture in Louisville, KY hosted a Sacred Streets show in their gallery in early 2014. A short gallery talk was given on opening night of the show, one of their most well attended. All the portraits were crated up and shipped to Kentucky and hung alongside framed photos that show the process of drawing the subjects on the streets.

Gallery curator, Michael Winters, said the show overall was “the best received show [they’ve] ever had,” and they have been bringing in artists for nearly 10 years.[/tab]

[tab title=”Workshop”]The next day, Jason taught a workshop on portrait drawing at a local homeless shelter. The focus of the workshop was to emphasize the way that face to face portraiture can be used as a way to connect with others, to see them, hear them, and give something special to them. Members from Sojourn paired up with each other as well as with residents of the shelter and learned about this process by going through it themselves.
